One More Night....

Never mind that Phil Collins and Genesis began playing on repeat in my head as soon as I wrote this title...I'm still glad that I'm staying a 2nd night. It's hot again, too, with a heat index of 100, but there is a breeze and the woods provide plenty of shade. And I smell pine! And I can walk on pine needles! It is almost like the "real' woods of the Northeast-with alligators, of course.

But Wiggy has had enough. Yesterday she got stung by a bee. Today she lay down to rest on top of an ant hill. Plus the return of the heat is no fun for her. So tomorrow we will continue on our merry way. North, mountains and cooler, here we come!

I had forgotten. I had forgotten what real cold felt like. In fact, I had even begun to relish and enjoy a brisk morning and a chill in the air. But this? This? Three days in a row when the afternoon
