Chattanooga to Atlanta

Updated: Apr 1, 2020

What a fun day! Wiggy aand I woke up yesterday in Chattanooga to temperatures below 30. No, that is not a typo. But we bundled up and headed out anyway. We drove to Cravens House, which was closed for the holiday, but was the perfect place to park for hiking up Overlook Mountain.

I parked and opened the car door and Wigz was off like a shot! Apparently she was not bothered by the cold! I, on the other hand, spent a good 2 or 3 more minutes putting on extra layers and gloves etc. Once we got going, it was not too bad, although my fingers kept getting numb no matter how much I kept them moving.

Some of the trail was flat and easy and then there were some more challenging areas. Wiggy ran up them all like a champ! We saw cliffs and caverns, icicles and waterfalls. It was beautiful and exhilarating.

Afterwards, we headed to Atlanta. And then, the day got even better.

Rebecca, a true friend and amazing person, whom I have not seen in more than 10 years, met me at my hotel. We had drinks and food and talked and laughed for several hours. It felt so good to reconnect and see how well she is doing. We had so many memories and stories to tell. Definitely a road trip highlight!
